I've been a little absent from the blog over the past few days. There's a good reason for it though I promise! I've been out enjoying the sunshine!
Where I live in the North West of England we very rarely see a blue sky or warm weather. In fact, the weather in my particular village is so dreary that in the second world war they decided to build a bomb factory here so the cloudy skies could protect it from being seen by planes. I don't know how factual that is, my driving instructor told me about it, but it makes sense to me.
Over the past couple of weeks we have had beautiful, warm, sunny weather. So I've been trying to make the most of it.
I'm so lucky that I live about an hours drive from The Lake District, one of the most beautiful places in the UK. Last weekend I drove up to Grasmere to meet a friend who lives near by. We decided to hike up to Easedale Tarn which was an absolutely stunning walk. There were great views all the way up as we followed the path of a waterfall. We even found a little pool to have a swim in and escape from the heat. When we got to the top we were greeted by a big tarn and even more beautiful views. It was bliss.
Later on in the week I travelled down south to visit my gran for a few days. My gran lives near lots of beautiful countryside too, so I spent lots of time relaxing, strawberry picking and even got to go to a buddhist temple that served yummy vegan food!
